Coaching Network
When the 2012 CCMN Global Summit was held in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysia participants were captivated by the sharing on coaching network, and during the regional group discussion, all participants decided that Malaysian pastors and churches too needed one such network as well. We all acknowledged that no pastors or churches should serve and walk alone—just as what the CCMN coaching network has been emphasizing all along. There was a cry for authentic relationship and friendship among the Malaysian pastors.
With encouragement from Ben Wong, we started the first MCN gathering on 19th December, 2012. 17 pastors came and we had some great fellowship time. Again we resolved that MCN should maintain its prime objective of providing platform for relationship building. It should not be another meeting or meetings for more programs or activities.
Few more gatherings of such nature went on for another year. Relationships became closer among the MCN family. From the year 2014 onwards, with support from Tony Chan and his team from the Hong Kong coaching network, we started the coaches training on the topic ‘Seven Essence of the Church’. We had it 3 times a year and we called it Add Oil Station (AOS). And during this time we started the coach-coachee relationship in MCN. Up till now, we have 3 coaches and 7 coachees.
Testimony by Pr Lazarus Chin:
I want to thank God for MCN, since the day I became a part of it, I've learn so much through the coaches from Hong Kong especial Ben Wong, Tony & Rebecca. They have been our constant encouragement in our ministry. The unconditional loves and acceptance that shown not only through their teaching, but also through their action by constantly coming to coach us has become our example and motivation to coach others.
The ‘Add Oil Station’ has become a platform for the pastors from various denominations to mix and fellowship with one another. MCN is a place to exchange ministry ideas and resources.
As MCN gaining momentum, we began to share more on church-based mission among the churches in the MCN families. We thank the Lord that finally in 2015, we had our first Malaysia CCMN short term mission (STM) to Southern Thailand. The team consists of 9 members. By the end of this year (2016), we will have a STM team each to Southern Thailand again and also to Bangladesh. All together we have 26 persons from 9 different churches to participate in this year’s STM.
It is exciting to see how MCN is facilitating the church-based mission movement in Malaysia. We will continue to work hard for the fulfilment of the great commission of Jesus in this pressing time. With what we had started here in Malaysia, we are also looking forward to be able to get connected with more members in the CCMN family.
Together forward!!!
