The second pre-trip training of STM was held on 26 June. John, from HK Kennedy Town Baptist Church with a valiant profile of being a mission field worker for 11 years, concluded the tactic on encountering challenges during STM in his words – “it depends on my choice”.
The phrase “it depends on my choice”, to John, carries the power of choice to go against the world’s routine. It is God, His truth and His promises that matter. If so, John has to care less about himself, but more on God’s interest. In face of his unexpectant suffering in the past event, such as the untreated wound, his wife’s miscarriage and threats from a family member, John kept trusting God and His truth which brought comfort. He went on his STMs without withdrawal.
