2025 Sending Ceremony of CCMN International STM Movement

The tagline “Striving Together in Unity” for STM this year bears the core value of trusting God’s created order out of chaos and one can move on even in confusion by faith. In parallel, the recent 12-day war in the Middle East and the typhoon alert in HK has caused several major changes on trip planning, training programs and ceremony rundown. The tagline has become a real drill.

It Runs Smooth

143 STM fighters from 44 churches in HK, Brazil, US, Malaysia and Fire City had taken a condensed 2-day camp for pre-trip training with a re-scheduled and shortened sending ceremony on 19 July evening before Typhoon Wipha battered HK. Guests hurried for the revised appointment and sat down in a stuffy hall to join the farewell prayers to bless and send 21 teams to 18 mission fields. After the ceremony, some teams would stay overnight at the closed airport until it returned to normal.

It Means Oneness

2 Brazilian participants took 43-hour travel to HK 1 week before the camp. They lived with their team leader as pre-trip cultural encounters. Running into cultural shock, Wylker had peace in mind because he felt the strength of One Body One Church. For Pastor Daniel, he came for a new mission experience with God. Believing in oneness, he has been supporting a Brazilian missionary in New City as if he were the sending church. He came to set an example to his disciples for doing missions.

It Takes Courage

Smart Team Leader Daniel located for us many conflict zones around the world, namely, the stateless Rohingya refugees, the neglected humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Israel-related military operations and military drills between China and Taiwan, etc. In face of all these dangers, we were somehow affected. But with courage and determination, we could experience God in the walk of uncertainty. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 was quoted to remind us - we, the vessels with the power of God living and manifesting inside, can be peacemakers in the chaotic world.
