2026 CCMN International Short Term Mission Movement’s 30th Sending Ceremony

The church-based sending ceremony, highlighting God’s chosen church and its obedience to His command, resonated with the focus of the worship. By God Almighty, the church could see and take action to the world’s need. The sending churches and the departing teams were all for God.
Woven together with dialogue between a granny and 2 kids, as well as narrated recordings, the story about the international mission movement was told from its beginning to recent development across 30 years. The cumulative total of STM participants reached 3000+ while 140 workers served God in 13 mission fields. The idea “One Body One Church” connected every experience from short term to long term mission, from local to global churches.
This year a team of Ibans from indigenous East Malaysia came to Hong Kong for training and their send-off rite before joining an STM to Southern Thailand. Historically, the fearsome Ibans were known for collecting heads as trophies on reaching adulthood. Since missionaries arrived and brought the gospel to them, their warrior culture had been transformed. Today they have risen and gone forth for the Great Commission.
The yearly STM T-shirts have been designed for specific theme, which has become a vital practice. For this 30th celebration, guests were encouraged to wear STM Tees any year to mark how themes had evolved. This year’s message “Just Obey” was profoundly explained by 6W (who, whom, what, when, where and how) through John 14:21 by Pastor Paul Ma. He encouraged us to say yes to Jesus, listen to His Word and live out His Heart.
Finally, Pastor Joy invited pastors and co-workers in the hall to pray for their own churches to follow Jesus’ command and raise disciples who obey Him. Drawing on the Lord’s Prayer, 120 STM participants from 38 churches were blessed to follow Jesus’ guidance. They were sent forth in 17 teams reaching 13 countries.
