CCMN International STM Movement 2026- Pre-trip Training 1

The upbeat summer vibe filled the hall where it opened to CCMN, the church-based mission movement, to move in and showcase a zero distance between mission and church. This year International Short Term Mission (STM) Movement captivated 118 participants from 38 churches forming 17 teams to step into the unknown during this turbulent time.
Kit, the worship leader called out in prayer, “God has chosen you and I. It’s not about how smart we are. It’s about our willing heart. God empowers us to be His witness.”
Kathy, Smart Team co-worker, reminded STM members to be humble and active learners. Whatever they learnt from the training should pass to others. She stressed that internal growth matters most. 2 takeaways: “Please teach me. I’m learning!” ; “Next time it’s my turn!”
Dorcas, another Smart Team member, set up a 3-act drama to mirror a real-world situations in STM. When crossing the threshold into the fields, STM members would come face to face with their own weaknesses from inside and unexpected challenges from outside, such as driving through rugged and winding cliff roads, blackout and water shortage, or being recalled to the hotel due to security reasons. Teams were encouraged to find ways to stay positive, flexible and co-operative. Dorcas rounded up the nature of STM, “It’s not only about working things out. It’s about life touching hearts. The way the team interacts and the atmosphere it creates speak volumes to anyone watching.”
