CCMN International STM Training - Pre-trip Training 2

Following worship, the group game and sharing sessions during the second training, STM members locked into their mission-ready mindsets.
Jeff from Baguette Country, who had been staying there for 14 years, was a long-serving STM host. He was invited to share his insights on STM. 2 takeaways: “You must know why you are going”; “Not just go, but accept God’s grace and seek His heart”
The field leader pointed out that the risen Christ delivered the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) to His doubtful disciples right before ascending into heaven. Therefore, hesitation was not a stop sign; it was the start of obedience. Quoted Act 1:8, Jeff wanted to draw the teams’ attention on sharing everyday life testimony for God while keeping in step with the Holy Spirit besides making disciples.
The Baguette host noted that true blessing flowed to the STM members rather than just to the field or the kingdom work they expected to do during the trip. He took his multinational team as an example. It was formed by devoted families that left their homeland and served wholeheartedly on the mission field. The team had a wealth of amazing stories that STM members could draw deep inspiration.
After all, “STM is only worth going if you make it worthwhile,” Kathy from Smart Team gave the whole idea a new angle. When returning from STM, any personal breakthroughs, strengthened relationships or new roles within the mission movement would create lasting impact to keep the movement thriving.
Finally, it came to the most exciting part of the training - the Tofu Challenge, where STM members faced their soft spots in life: brokenness, vulnerability, closed-mindedness or unwillingness to change, etc. By throwing the tofu onto the ground, STM members symbolically confronted and began to overcome their weaknesses.
